One of the defining aspects of my high-school experience was the wonderful relationships I would develop with the brilliant and bright people around me. One such group however was much more involved within itself than your average group of friends, or as we would call it these days, extra. I can thank Michael and Isaiah for many of the Shenanigans that went one. One such time proved to be especially significant. During the barbecue for the last day of my Junior year, Michael and Isaiah showed up with roughly 18 glass bottles of mountain dew, the most unanimously loved and hated drink. In an attempt to give cheer to the ending of the year and to our many plans for adventures over the summer, we gathered outside, capped off the bottle to our soda, clanked glasses and gave a toast. Proceeding that was the group picture and Michael's idea to say a few words about the group, the year, and the summer. Moments like these prove incredibly significant for the overarching idea behind the AMES community. From group to group, no one was a permanent member of any one selection of people, we were all friends here.
